We have a thriving Youth and Family Ministry at St Mark's that reaches out into the community, helping to sponsor a camp for the neighborhood during the summer (with our neighbors at St. Stephen's Episcopal) and hosting youth groups from around the country to immerse them in urban ministry experiences and relationships with us.
Our approach to ministry is to participate in God's love and action in the world, meeting youth and families where they are, inviting them to see God at work in them and their community. Our Director of Youth & Family Ministry, Kinna Nordstrom - Kemp, coordinates and helps vision these new and powerful ways of doing and being church with a wonderful Youth Committee.
Contact Kinna for more detailed information about all that's happening: firstname.lastname@example.org ; (303) 889-9844 (call/ text)
If you'd like to support this important ministry, we are accepting donations via Paypal or Square.
OHANA CHAPEL - SUNDAY MORNINGS
OHANA Chapel happens during the 9:15 a.m. worship service. Children and youth ages 0-17 are excused during the opening hymn and then re-join the worship during the Passing of the Peace, just before Holy Communion. We are currently working through a 36 week curriculum called "ECHO The Story", where we go through the entire bible using videos, art and stories in 36 weeks! Have you missed a week or 5? That's OK, there is a recap every week!
All young people are welcome to join Miss Kinna in the front two pews, or in the
"Pray-Ground" in the front right corner of the church! We always have Children's bulletins available and fidget activities.
3rd Sunday of every month after worship. It's a time for God's people of all ages to engage in faith formation together for an hour with food and activities. We also celebrates birthday's every Cross+Gen Sunday with a blessing during the 9:15 a.m. worship!

OHANA YOUTH MINISTRY
OHANA Youth Ministry is an ecumenical and multicultural community youth group based out of St. Mark's Aurora. OHANA stands for: Object Hate And Nurture Acceptance. In a world of differences where people can’t seem to find their own worth, let alone see the worth and humanity in others, this is a space where young people feel welcomed, worthy, and are taught how to be accepting of people who are different from themselves. The gospel is what guides us on this journey!
We have youth that identify as Latino, African, Indonesian, and Anglo. They go to different schools and churches throughout the area, some are unchurched, but they are one youth group learning how to be “one in their community” no matter their race, religion, disabilities, gender, or sexuality. We have received an award in the past from Families Forward for our participation in the community through service and giving back!
